We had such a disaster at the weekend whatever could go wrong did go wrong! We were asked to cater a hog roast for a christening on Sunday in Old Weston and we filled the van and all ready to go when the van wouldn’t start we were in shock it was 6 am and we didn’t know what to do we couldn’t ring a mechanic well not that early! We were starting to panic a little as we had a fair distance to travel the chef rang his brother in law who happened to be a mechanic and he very kindly agreed to come and help us out within half an hour we were up and running and so grateful to the poor guy who helped us out at 6am, luckily the roads were nice and clear so we still made it in time the reason we have to leave so early is especially if the customer orders pig it takes about seven hours to cook so we have to have the meat cooking upon arrival and that’s what we tried to do! Hog roast hire Old Weston placed the pig onto the machine and nothing happened when we turned on the machine we all looked at each other in shock this really couldn’t be happening we though and tried again still nothing then our chef said he had placed a spare machine in the van just in case we could have kissed him sheer relief! We got the machine out of the van and quickly got the Old Weston meat on the go and were really grateful to our chefs quick thinking bringing a spare machine but he said he always does it just shows how much notice we take! So all was going well meat on the go vegetables chopped and ready tables set just waiting for the christening party to arrive and our chef couldn’t find his knives he keeps them in a large wallet and we were starting to panic as the guests started to flood in, he found them in the van and we again quickly set to work the day went splendid and everyone had a good time we had such a good chuckle in the van going home disasters keep us on our toes!
