Whether on land, sea or somewhere in between, Hog Roast Grantchester never fail to deliver! We relished the opportunity to demonstrate the versatility and practicality of our awesome Hogmaster machine when we were contacted by the owner of a new tour boat company to ask us to provide a freshly prepared buffet on board for the launch party of his new nautical tourist attraction! Our experienced ears recognised the weary tone of Colin at the other end of the phone when he asked us the same question he had obviously asked several other companies beforehand and had received the same disappointing negative response every time! ‘Of course we can cook on your boat for 40 people!’ was our surprisingly positive response. This caught Colin off guard, but when a member of our knowledgeable customer service team explained how easy our machines are to transport and how multiskilled our caterers are, Colin rapidly became a lot more enthusiastic and promptly booked us for his event!
So, our chef and catering assistant found themselves climbing aboard with our streamlined equipment and had no problem at all setting up on the port side (we think that means on the left!) on Colin’s new boat, which was freshly painted in vibrant navy and white nautical stripes, with his company logo proudly emblazoned on a flag that was flying on the stern-which we were informed by our sailing expert that this was the correct term for the back of the boat! We took Colin’s word for it and concentrated on our own area of expertise-slow-roasting free-range pork in a quirky location!
We could tell this event meant a lot to Colin, not just because of all his hard work in setting it up, but also because it was his opportunity to share his passion for sailing and his love of his native coastline with visitors to the area. We assured Colin that we would do him and his new floating enterprise justice and proved it quite overwhelmingly when his ticket paying guests started to arrive. Colin’s plan was to ply everyone with our fabulous food and a glass of bubbly before taking them out for a trip round the coast! Colin’s boat and Hog Roast Grantchester efforts were met with an equally enthusiastic response, and just like our Captain himself, Colin’s new crew members were just as shocked that we were able to a) get our Hogmaster on board, and b) prepare such a tasty, professional feast!
