Choosing to eat meat-free can be a great lifestyle change, whether you are doing it for ethical reasons, for your health- or for something entirely different! Hog Roast St Ives can provide both vegan and vegetarian dishes, including several delicious main courses and many incredible side dishes. Meat-free dishes can be served alongside our usual catering, or we can provide an entirely plant-based menu! Here is just one example of what we can provide…
This spring we were asked to cater for Lauren’s birthday party, providing solely meat-free dishes. Lauren has been a vegetarian for over 15 years and has a close friendship group of like-minded people. She had been on the lookout for a party caterer when she came across our buffet menu and she enquired about whether we could alter it to be entirely meat-free. We have a great selection of vegetarian main courses, and many great salads and sides to choose from, so a meat-free buffet would be simple!
On the day of the party, we arrived at the venue with plenty of time to cook and prepare our dishes. Since we were not slow-roasting any meats, the prep time was much less than usual. We began with the first main course, which was grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers. While the vegetables were roasting, we moved onto the BBQ jackfruit topping for our deliciously fluffy jacket potatoes. The main dishes were served with home style chips and sweet potato fries, as well as homemade coleslaw, seasonal vegetables, and Caeser salad. Following on from the main course, we provided fresh fruit salad and sticky toffee pudding for dessert.
This meat-free menu included both vegetarian and vegan dishes, with something for every taste. Despite not including meat, it was incredibly versatile and could be enjoyed by all, including meat-eating guests.
