If you want to connect with nature without heading too far from the comfort of your home, then Horsley Hale Farm might just be your dream destination. Dubbed an ”Oasis in the Fens”, this scenic paradise is surrounded by peaceful lakes, rolling fields as far as the eye can see and stunning gardens. The breathtaking views of this magical location make it the perfect backdrop for any kind of open-air event you have in mind, and recently our Hog Roast Aldreth team were able to experience it for themselves after being booked for a party which had been organised to celebrate the end of the school year!
The event saw a collection of families (20 adults and 20 children) come together at the famous glamping spot to enjoy a lip-smacking spread that centred around one of our impressive hog roast feasts. Catering to everyone’s needs, Hog Roast Aldreth had also included BBQ jackfruit on the menu along with soft and floury gluten-free rolls and wraps. As the appointed catering manager, Beth was the one placed in charge of handling the client’s booking, and as usual, she went above and beyond to make their day that little bit more spectacular!
With the food set to be served later in the evening, Beth and the rest of the Hog Roast Aldreth team were able to arrive on-site a little later on in the day, but they still wanted to give themselves plenty of time to prepare. A handful of hours was all they needed to whip up the simple spread and equipped with masks and gloves, they were ready to go.
Time passed by quickly, and before the Hog Roast Aldreth catering crew knew it, they were carving up the juicy hog roast and serving it with sweet homemade applesauce, crispy and fluffy chunks of stuffing and perfectly salted crackling to a queue of eager faces, who couldn’t seem to get enough of the traditional buffet. Not only did the meat go down a storm, but everyone (yes, even the devoted meat lovers!) was also super impressed with our BBQ jackfruit dish, which some couldn’t believe was completely vegan!
