Shona and Eric were the latest to get a taste of our flavour-filled cooking after enlisting in our services ahead of their wedding day, which took place on Saturday afternoon. On the guest list, there were some 30 names which meant 30 plus mouths for the Hog Roast Barton to feed. No amount of guests is ever a problem for our catering crew though, and for this special occasion, the happy couple had asked us to serve the southern slow roast menu which suited their shabby chic wedding theme down to a tee.
For the main course, the pair had agreed on the fall off the bone Louisiana sticky pork ribs, free-range cajun spiced whole roast chickens and the creole pulled quarter of spiced lamb along with a vegetarian-friendly option of BBQ pulled jackfruit stuffed wraps. For the sides, Memphis style crunchy coleslaw, seasonal green leaf salad, corn on the cob dripping with butter and melting cheese and jalapeno smothered fries were to be served followed by a dessert option of handmade individual rich chocolate tortes or zesty lemon tarts with fresh raspberries and fresh fruit coulis.
It took several hours for the Hog Roast Barton catering crew to bring the menu to life in Shona and Eric’s sun-soaked back garden which had been transformed by a small cluster of marquees decked out with fairy lights and floral bunting, as well as centrepieces that looked like they had been plucked straight from a fairytale.
When the wedding party arrived to celebrate, the feast was ready and waiting for them, and everyone was impressed with what was on offer!
