In ordinary circumstances, this time of year usually sees our catering crews serve at an all manner of summery festivals and carnivals. However, things this year have been a little bit different, to say the least! But if you thought that meant hog roasts were off the table until a later date, think again because Hog Roast Beck Row has been as busy as ever. Since the lockdown rules were relaxed, our teams from all over the country have been working tirelessly to deliver some of our exceptional feasts, and recently, we took part in a rather unusual event. Well, unusual for us anyway!
With mass gatherings still a huge no-no, one band of creative individuals came up with the perfect idea for their fundraising event: a hog roast drive-thru. For many of us, it’s the stuff that dreams are made of, and as always Hog Roast Beck Row couldn’t wait to get involved! This very special event was organised by Niall, who along with other members of his group had set out to raise funds for a major community project that they had come up with.
Wanting to keep things fairly simple for the day in order to prevent any hangry drivers from having to wait too long in a queue, the clients opted for our classic hog roast menu which offers a traditional hog roast experience with all the trimmings. The best part is, everything on the menu can be served on our freshly baked gluten-free rolls for a flavour-packed experience.
The day of the fundraiser couldn’t come quick enough, and starting off their morning early the Hog Roast Beck Row team arrived at the site to prepare the feast. Before too long, cars began to pull up in their droves, and as each one waited patiently for their turn to collect some of our delicious food, Niall kept everyone entertained with some upbeat music and encouraged them to take part in the e-raffle the group were also hosting.
Everyone had a blast, and as well as the money made from the drive-thru itself, donations came pouring in via the chosen crowdfunding platform which amounted to an impressive sum by the end of the day.
