Hog Roast Teversham caters for an Employee Sports Day

A group of 50 marketing staff got the chance to swap their suits for running shoes one day last week because their company had organised an employee sports day for them! The management team decided it was time to inject a bit more fun into the workplace and this was the first time the company had ever put on an event like this. They needed caterers who could offer a corporate menu but also be able to cook it all in a field next a running track without compromising on quality. Hog Roast Teversham were the only company they found who fitted the bill!

So, while everyone was limbering up ready to participate in their chosen events, the Hog Roast Teversham team were getting our state of the art roasting machine warmed up to ensure the meat was ready to replenish the hungry competitors when all of the running, jumping and throwing was over and done with. The atmosphere was upbeat but there was also an air of competitiveness on the sports field, as the Sales Manager went head to head with the web development team in the high jump, with the loser knowing they would be in for some serious ribbing in the office for weeks to come!

Our catering assistant managed to fight off the flashbacks of the haunting memory of narrowly losing in the 100-metre sprint at her school sports day 15 years previously, and like to pro that she was, stayed focused on preparing the range of rejuvenating and nutritious side salads to accompany to main course! As the sporting events came to an Porkend, the winners gloated, and the losers licked their wounds as the trophies were handed out. Everyone soon forgot their rivalries however, as they started tucking into the food! The company’s management team complimented us on how we had managed to achieve exactly the right balance of high quality corporate cooking, served in a relaxed style, in keeping with the fun-filled mood of the day. The only complaint we got was from the Head of Marketing, who blamed Hog Roast Teversham for him losing in the long jump, because he was too distracted by the delicious smell of the hog roast wafting across the field!
