It’s been a big week for Spitting Pig and our biggest event, the one that really topped it all off, was a gala evening in Horseheath. Quite appropriately, this one was for the friends and family of a local jockey, all of whom had congregated for a birthday celebration to mark his 30th birthday.
Plenty of horse lovers in attendance, and they’d come to the right place because their thoughtful host had booked Spitting Pig to provide the catering. I used to come down to the race track down the road a couple of times a year (I’m tempted to say that might be how Horseheath got its name, but I think the name of the area predates the racing track) so I had plenty to talk to them about – although most of the guests who I spoke to seemed to be more interested in discussing the merits of our Spitting Pig roasting machines than discussing the jumps and straights on the local course. Well, obviously I’ve always got a lot to say about roasting, and my technique is second to none, so I held forth as I served on the best ways to achieve that perfect crisp crackling and tender pork meat that keeps our customers booking us over and over again. Unfortunately for the average home chef, the simple trick to guarantee the most delectable results is to roast your pork on one of our hog roast horseheath machines! You cannot beat the beautiful crackling slow roasted over hours on our kit, it just cannot be done in a home oven, try as you might.
This really is one for the professionals! It’s all part of the whole hog-roasting experience, tantalising all the senses: the smell of the roasting meat, the sight of a whole majestic hog roasting on the spit, the sound of the knife crunching through the crackling, and the amazing taste and feel of tender hot pork in your mouth as the climax of the whole experience. The Spitting Pig roasting machines are always the piece de resistance at all the events we cater, so make sure to do as our horse loving friend from Horseheath did and get on the blower to Spitting Pig today!
