Winter Warmer Hog Roast Lode

Just imagine your guests’ faces when they see the awesome spectacle of a slow-roasting hog roast Lode at your party. The centrepiece meat will tantalise with fabulous sights and gorgeous aromas and you won’t be able to resist licking your lips. Plus the rest of the food will surely impress, too – whether you’re enjoying our famous pigs in buns or our current winter warmer menu that features freshly-cooked meat and veg.

Slowly roasted over several hours from scratch, the hog will be carved right in front of you and your guests, which is all part of the thrilling spectacle. People often applaud when we get the carving knives out, especially long-term customers who know what comes next – slivers of juicy meat and crunchy pieces of salty crackling, cooked perfectly and ready to be devoured.

A hog roast Lode is an easy way to feed those invited to your party and it can be highly economical, too, especially if you’re feeding a large number of guests. Even if you’re having a small event, however, you can still save money and enjoy the same stunning food and professional service by our dedicated team. For Sara’s 40th birthday celebration yesterday, there were just a few guests of close friends and her partner invited to her home, and I could easily cater the party by myself.

I arrived at the customer’s home with a gazebo, serving station, one of our trusty hog roasting machines, as well as a small hog, which I would roast for around 3 short hours. Sara had asked for a winter warmer of pork, carrots, Brussels sprouts, baby potatoes, and onions. While the hog roast Lode would be cooking at the top of the machine, the veggies and potatoes would roast away together in a tray underneath. First of all, though, I needed to prep the meat and get that cooking.

Later on, after keeping an eye on the slow-roasting pork, I freshly prepared the potato and vegetable dish and then that was added to the machine, too. Time flew by while talking to Sara and her partner and before I knew it, the guests had arrived and I was serving our delicious food, topped off with our homemade onion gravy.
