At Hog Roast Great Abington, we recently provided catering for a wonderful couple who had always planned on hosting an outdoor wedding. For their ceremony, they chose to enjoy an intimate occasion on the beach near their home, with only close friends and family in attendance. Following the beautiful outdoor ceremony, they hosted a reception in a converted barn. The reception took place indoors and outdoors, with guests enjoying their meal in the barn, followed by dancing and entertainment on the neighbouring farmland. For the menu, Hog Roast Great Abington had been asked to provide our classic slow-roasted hog, followed by some delicious dessert options.
On the day of the event, the Hog Roast Great Abington team arrived at the venue in advance of the 3:00pm mealtime. We began by roasting the hog, which required 5 hours to cook to perfection. Once ready, it was expertly carved and served with roasted potatoes, sage and onion stuffing, seasonal vegetable dishes, and crispy crackling. This created a delicious main course, with something for every guest to enjoy.
Once the main course had been enjoyed, it was then time for the dessert. We served profiteroles and sticky toffee pudding, with every dish accompanied by English cream and fresh berries. Overall, the dessert course looked and tasted incredible and was a huge success!
