Hog Roast Chatteris Providing Everyone’s Favourite – Hog Roast Rolls

On a chilly, wet December morning recently, Hog Roast Chatteris set off to a local school where we would be preparing, cooking and serving a hog roast centrepiece for up to a hundred guests. We have the words ‘hog roast’ in our name for a very good reason – we’ve spent many years perfecting them and they are loved by many people far and wide.

Hog Roast Chatteris For this school fair, we would be making up our highly popular pigs in buns for most of the guests and also providing a vegetarian option too. We were asked to cook veggie skewers, which feature fresh halloumi and seasonal vegetables, and are grilled until perfect. We have always ensured that all of our customers and their guests can enjoy our food, so we have lots of choices for vegetarians, vegans and gluten-free guests, to name just a few, and if you need more options just ask us in advance of your party or event and our dedicated chefs will whip something up.

When it comes to our Hog Roast Chatteris pigs in buns (which you may know as hog roast rolls), we start by sourcing a fresh, high-quality, local pig, which we prepare on-site at your venue by scoring it, covering it in water and then massaging in loads of salt. The latter part gives us the crackling, which is salty and crunchy after ages of sizzling away. Once the hog has cooked to perfection, which takes several hours, it has a short rest, and then we get the carving knives out. After slicing off the crackling into trays, we then get slice after slice of juicy, tender pork, which we fill trays with too, and bits of both crammed into a variety of soft bread rolls (or wraps if preferred). Once topped with our own-recipe apple sauce and sage and onion stuffing, we pass them to the guests, who can add their own choice of condiments from our selection, if preferred, and then it’s finally time to eat!

Hog Roast Chatteris cooked plenty of scrumptious food for the school fair on this day and it was all devoured with absolute relish. By the time we cleared away, there was no food left at all.
