Christmas heralds the end of the academic term, and Hog Roast King’s Hedges’ latest Client was a local College. The College Administrator, friendly Client Karen worked with the team to sort out the catering for her students Christmas party.
Client Karen was very keen that the buffet should be informal and should have something for all tastes and dietary requirements- it should be a meal for all 60 students to enjoy. The Hog Roast King’s Hedges team were only too glad to help her create a menu and catering package that did just that!
On the day of the Christmas celebration Chef Ben and his assistant (and wife) Beth arrived at the College several hours before the 1pm serving time. They were given plenty of space in an empty classroom in which to create the whole buffet fresh from scratch. This husband and wife duo worked together to produce a tasty, high quality buffet for the students to enjoy!
The buffet menu had been chosen by Client Karen with help from the Hog Roast King’s Hedges team. It included dishes such as BBQ 100% beef burgers and Chefs own gourmet sausage, as well as vegan and vegetarian alternatives such as couscous, BBQ pulled jackfruit and vegetable and halloumi skewers. But that wasn’t all! There was also Chefs choice of three tasty salads, and a large platter of skin on potato wedges. Finishing off the buffet was a basket of rolls and an assortment of dips and sauces.
When 1pm rolled around the students queued up nicely and used the disposable crockery and cutlery that Chef Ben had laid out.
Once the buffet had been thoroughly enjoyed by the merry students Chef Ben and his assistant Beth tidied away. All the rubbish from the catering of the event, including the used crockery and cutlery was taken by the Hog Roast King’s Hedges team and disposed of safely, leaving the Client able to enjoy the party.
It was a job well done, and the students had loved the variety on offer at the buffet! It rounded off the hand term nicely.
