Last Wednesday Hog Roast Soham’s catering manager Matt and his assistant Lily put on the most scrumptious tasting session for the lovely bride and groom to be Danielle and Henry.
Despite the temperature dropping the past few weeks, Wednesday was a warm and sunny afternoon, Danielle and Henry’s venue choice was a field. It may sound completely random and boring but what they told Matt and Lily sounded like a dream and nevertheless, the field had the wonderful country backdrop of endless greenery. Despite wanting a tepee tent originally, Danielle and Henry have gone for two stretch tents one will be dedicated solely for a dance floor – love it!
Danielle and Henry quickly but surely showed Matt and Lily around the area, discussing set up and other specifics of the day for example, where the team would be able to get power. Having an insight of the layout of where things will be on the day makes it that much easier for Hog Roast Soham to do an efficient job without having to contact busy brides or grooms.
While Danielle and Henry wondered around the field making important decisions about their big day, Matt and Lily set up the tasting session. They popped a table up and laid it with a crisp tablecloth, dinning plates, side plates, cutlery, napkins, water glasses and a Prosecco glasses – mirroring what it would look like set up on the day.
Matt was head of the BBQ preparing and cooking Hog Roast Soham’s Southern Slow meats. Danielle and Henry tucked into taster-size portions of moist, minted lamb, Cajun spiced chicken, Texan-BBQ pulled beef, sticky and sweet BBQ spareribs and heavenly bourbon BBQ pulled pork. Each meat as tender and flavourful as the other! Hog Roast Soham’s Southern menu makes it hard for people to decide on what to have as there is just so much tasty choice!
The tasting session was almost like Danielle and Henry had their very own private and personal chef for a few hours! They also tasted the indulgent and creamy Mac and cheese, herbed new potato salad, halloumi skewers have freshly prepared salads.
Matt and his team wish Danielle and Henry all the best with their final wedding preparations.
