This November, Hog Roast Cambridge was hired by RAF Lakenheath to provide a delicious menu for their team while they celebrate Thanksgiving. RAF Lakenheath is a branch of the US air force, currently based in Cambridgeshire, so celebrating Thanksgiving is a way for the troops to remember home and to celebrate traditionally. For the menu, Hog Roast Cambridge was hired to provide a classic hog roast to 200 guests, with a vegan option and plenty to go around! Our catering manager Ben was more than happy to get involved with this event, as no party is too big or too small for our team.
On the day of the event, Ben and the Hog Roast Cambridge team arrived at the venue with plenty of time to prepare for the 12:45 mealtime. We began by preparing the hog and slow-roasting it to perfection on-site, to ensure freshness and flavour with every bite. Once ready, the sliced meat was served with a variety of bread rolls and wraps, including a gluten-free option. For meat-free guests, we also provided BBQ pulled Jackfruit, which is a delicious pork alternative. The mains were served with sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, crispy crackling, homemade chips, and a variety of seasonal salad dishes, to create a varied and delicious lunch for the guests. Our menu went down a treat and was a great way for the guests to gather together and enjoy a delicious lunch.
