Lara and her partner first met at school, but they didn’t become close until they found themselves working in the same pub in their city, over five years later. From here, the pair soon became good friends and started going on dates between their shifts at the pub. After dating for several years, Lara’s boyfriend proposed over a romantic home-cooked meal and of course Lara said yes! For their engagement party, the couple wanted to go back to the place where their romance began- the pub where they worked! Lara arranged for their event to take place at the pub, with their friends and family gathering to share the good news. Hog Roast Cottenham had also been hired to provide a classic hog roast for the guests, which would be a great addition to the event.
On the day of the party, the Hog Roast Cottenham team arrived at the pub and got to work setting up our catering station in the function room. To begin with, we slow-roasted the hog and ensured that it was cooked to perfection. Once ready, the succulent meat was expertly carved and served in fresh bread rolls, alongside sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. For meat-free guests, we served BBQ pulled jackfruit, which is a great veggie alternative. Our catering was a great addition to the event and went down a treat with the guests!
